Gas Safety Week
Gas Safe Register have announced that this week is Gas Safety Week. The theme is 'Take Care, be Gas Safe'. It is to encourage homeowners to look after their Gas appliances by regular servicing and safety checks, to ensure that they are Gas Safe this winter. Call our office to book in a service before the winter is here, which, judging by the weather at the moment, is not too far away!

Calor to help with Fuel Switch
Calor has started a scheme where they can offer £500 to customers who switch to LPG from oil, solid fuel or electricity. The £500 can either be claimed when you first get your LPG fill or have it taken off your boiler installation through CalorForce. See www.calor.co.uk/switch for more info.

Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI)
Recently, the Government has announced plans for the RHI scheme. The RHI scheme, in short, means that they will pay you for generating heat from renewable sources such as solar heating, and will pay you for 20 years after the installation. This means that you will save money from generating your own heat and also get paid for it too! Plans for this to take affect within households will be October 2012, however if you have a suitable system installed from now then you qualify for payments when they begin in October 2012. The installation needs to be carried out by someone who is Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) Certified. (which we are currently in the process of). Keep your Boiler Maintained
A local fuel company has recently stated that more than 30% of boiler breakdowns could have been avoided in the winter had they been serviced. Some boilers had not been serviced for a long period of time and the extreme winter we had was too much. Remember, it is very important for you to have your boiler serviced as it can save your life & avoid those costly breakdowns.

CO DETECTOR SAVES FAMILY
An audible carbon monoxide alarm fitted by a couple at their home in Southend woke them in the early hours of the morning warning them of a faulty gas boiler,the couple and their two small children,Harry,three and Emily,one escaped unhurt from a potentially fatal gas leak.
